I think I might be pregnant, what do I do?

Over half of the women who come to our Center have negative tests, even though they are experiencing symptoms. You have a 50% chance that you are not pregnant. The best way to ease your mind is to get a free pregnancy test (no appointment is necessary.) You will find warm, caring volunteers at the Mid Cities Pregnancy Center, who can answer your questions and assist you.

If the test is positive, remember that approximately 1 in 4 pregnancies end in a miscarriage. We can give you a free Ultrasound exam to make sure there is a heartbeat. Your health and safety are important to us.

If I Am Pregnant, What Are My Options?

The Mid Cities Pregnancy Center has information on all your options. The volunteers will discuss your options with you. This is a very important decision.

1. Abortion: we can provide information on abortion procedures, and what you might face emotionally and physically.
2. Parenting: we have classes that will teach you parenting skills and provide maternity and baby clothes. If requested, we will talk with parents, boyfriend, or husband.
3. Adoption: we provide information and referrals for adoption. Classes are available on the option of adoption.

What Resources Are Available to Me?

We can refer you for: medical care, government and community resources (such as WIC, Medicaid, food, and clothing), support groups, and professional counseling, if needed. We will also provide referrals for housing accomodations, when necessary.
